Fitness For Life- HLAC 1096

I chose to take the course fitness for life because I was not only interested in exercise but in the health aspect of fitness as well.  This course focuses on bringing fitness into your life in forms of exercise and nutrition.  I really enjoyed this course and will use many of the things I have learned to help me keep up on my physical fitness for the rest of my life.  Our professor asked us to showcase our lifelong wellness assignment which asked questions that related to what we learned in this class and how we are going to apply it to our lives.

Reflection 

This class has been really enjoyable for me.  About a year or so ago I chose to make a lifestyle change and had decided to change my eating habits along with bringing fitness and exercise back into my life.  I have never been one to exercise much and never really cared about my eating habits, thank goodness I have never had to struggle with being overweight much.  This class has given me a great amount of information on exercise and healthy eating habits.  I thought that I was doing good with the foods that I had been eating but this class made me realize how to balance the foods that I eat better than I had been doing before.  I never realized that I was not eating enough fruits or vegetables until I did a specific assignment in this class and I am now making a better conscious effort to put more of them in my diet. 

I also have learned a lot about exercise and how good it really is for my body and mind.  Before this class I had been doing yoga a couple times a week to help out with having fibromyalgia but since taking this course I have incorporated cardio with yoga to give me a more balanced exercise routine.  I love the benefits that the stretching of yoga gives me and I love the way that cardio benefits my heart and endurance for every day activities.  I have an easier time climbing flights of stairs, walking for long distances, and my mental being has been uplifted as well. 

The assignment I am showcasing is our Lifelong Fitness assignment.  This assignment asked for me to list how I felt about the course and the benefits it has brought me by taking the class.  It also lists what lifelong fitness means to me.  This assignment is a good evaluation of how this class has helped me in my physical fitness journey.  I will definitely use the things I learned in this class lifelong.
