Quantitative Literacy--MATH 1010: Intermediate Algebra

I took Intermediate Algebra because I need to work up to College Algebra for my BS in Elementary Education.  In Math 1010 we had 2 main projects where we used math in real life situations.  I am showcasing my project in the Utah population project.  Originally my project was printed out and the math solutions were handwritten but because my answers were all over the place I decided to type everything up on word and then save as a PDF so you could see it a little more orderly.

Here is the link to my project:

Reflection:

Creating these projects in Intermediate Algebra really showed me how much you can apply some of these equations and formulas into everyday life, especially within one's career choice depending on what that may be.  I know that I will use the applications that I have learned in Intermediate Algebra while I am teaching my elementary aged students.  I had a lot of fun creating these projects and look forward to what exciting information College Algebra brings!
